Committing your Christmas raw and treat stock: what to plan now

26th October 2026

The festive buying window closes in the next few weeks. What to stock in Christmas raw, how to plan freezer vs counter space, and why advent calendars need to be on your shelf in November.

Committing your Christmas raw and treat stock: what to plan now

Christmas is a buying decision long before it is a selling season. By the time a customer is standing at your freezer in the third week of December, every choice that matters has already been made, and most of them are made in the next few weeks.

The useful question now is not "will festive raw sell?" It is "how much freezer and how much shelf am I giving it, and what goes where?" Frozen and ambient need different planning, and the freezer is almost always the limit. Whatever is left on 27th December is seasonal stock in a way an everyday recipe never is, so be restrained on depth and decisive on breadth: a small, visible festive section outsells a large one buried in the chest freezer.

What actually sells at Christmas in the raw category

Festive raw sells because it asks almost nothing of the customer. Someone already feeding raw adds one extra meal to the basket. Someone who isn't buys their dog or cat a Christmas dinner. This year there are two raw ranges to plan around, both frozen.

Nutriment Christmas raw

Two of the four are for cats, which matters more than it looks. Cat owners are usually an afterthought at Christmas, and a festive cat dinner on the shelf is often the only one they will see.

Natural Instinct festive feasts

  • Christmas Feast: complete raw for adult dogs, 75% turkey with bone and 5% turkey liver.
  • Festive Feast: complete raw for adult dogs, 75% beef green tripe.
  • My First Christmas Feast: complete raw for puppies, built on turkey with bone, beef green tripe and turkey heart.

All three are 1kg, grain-free, made in Britain and stored in the freezer.

Planning frozen vs ambient for December

Every festive raw recipe above goes in the freezer, and your freezer is already full of the everyday range. Don't squeeze the core range to make room. Decide in advance how many facings the festive meals get, and put the rest of the festive push on the shelf and counter, where the treats, chews and calendars live, and space costs you nothing.

The standing trade terms to plan a festive order around:

  • Delivery: At checkout, you'll be able to select your preferred dispatch date. Your order will be sent on this date via a next-day courier delivery service (2 days for certain postcodes). Please note that during busier times, we may reach capacity with our couriers earlier in the day. We suggest you order as early as possible to avoid delays.
  • Minimum order: 5kg.
  • Large orders: anything over 150kg is packed onto a pallet and delivered by a pallet courier.
  • Freezer units: a minimum two-week lead time, with payment before the unit is ordered. If December is when you need more freezer space, that conversation needs to happen now.

The full terms are on our code of conduct page, and delivery details are on the shipping information page.

Advent calendars: order now, sell by 1st December

Advent calendars are the one festive line with a hard sell-by moment. They stop selling on 1st December, not 25th December, so they need to be on your shelf in November. There are four to choose from this year.

The two AniForte calendars sit at different levels, so stocking both gives customers a choice. The Nutriment and Natural Instinct calendars cover the meat lover and the fish lover.

Merchandising a festive display

Two places do the selling. The freezer door is where the festive meals are decided, so give them their own clearly signed facings rather than mixing them into the everyday range. The counter and till are where the impulse buys happen. That's the place for the calendars, the DIBO Festive Treat Tub (a 750g tub of dried pig ears, turkey wings, duck necks, pig snouts and chicken feet) and the Christmas Treats Special Bundle, which is designed to sit by the till or slot into gift hampers.

Keep the counter display small and topped up. A half-empty basket of festive treats in mid-December looks like the end of the season, even when it isn't.
